Last updated: May 8, 2026
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern participation in the School of Young Scientists and other educational or research initiatives organised by the Earth Philosophical Society “Melodia Vitae” (“the Society”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).
By submitting an application, accepting participation in the programme, or continuing participation in Society activities, the participant (“participant”, “student”, “you”, or “your”) acknowledges and agrees to comply with these Terms.
The School of Young Scientists is an educational and research training initiative intended to provide participants with experience in academic research, scientific communication, and related scholarly activities.
The programme is not a degree-granting institution unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Participation in the programme does not create an employment relationship between the participant and the Society.
Admission to the programme is selective and based on the Society’s evaluation of academic background, motivation, research potential, and overall suitability for participation.
The Society reserves the right to accept or decline any application at its sole discretion.
Participants are expected to:
engage actively in research and academic activities;
maintain regular communication with supervisors or programme coordinators;
demonstrate professionalism, responsibility, and academic integrity;
comply with reasonable academic and organisational requirements.
Participants are expected to make sustained academic progress throughout the programme.
The programme follows a research-oriented and learning-by-doing model. Participants are expected to contribute actively to research projects, manuscript preparation, academic discussions, and related scholarly work.
The Society does not guarantee specific academic outcomes, including publications, conference participation, academic appointments, or admission to external educational institutions.
Participants may work under the guidance of supervisors, mentors, or senior researchers affiliated with the Society.
Supervisory guidance may include:
research planning;
manuscript development;
methodological consultation;
academic feedback;
professional development support.
Participants remain responsible for the quality, accuracy, and integrity of their own academic work.
Participants are expected to adhere to principles of academic honesty and ethical conduct.
The following may constitute grounds for suspension or termination of participation:
plagiarism;
fabrication or falsification of data;
serious misrepresentation of qualifications or research results;
persistent failure to engage with research activities;
harassment, discrimination, or abusive conduct;
serious violations of academic or ethical standards.
The Society reserves the right to investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action.
Intellectual contributions made by participants remain subject to generally accepted academic standards regarding authorship and attribution.
Authorship of manuscripts, conference presentations, or other scholarly outputs shall be determined according to the nature and extent of individual contributions.
Participants are expected to acknowledge collaborative contributions appropriately and comply with accepted standards of academic practice.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, participation in the programme does not transfer ownership of independently created intellectual work to the Society.
Participants may gain access to unpublished research materials, internal discussions, or confidential academic information.
Such information must not be disclosed publicly or shared with unauthorised individuals without permission.
This obligation continues after the end of participation in the programme where reasonably applicable.
As the programme is conducted primarily online, participants are responsible for maintaining reliable access to:
internet connectivity;
communication platforms;
necessary software tools;
academic correspondence.
Participants are expected to communicate respectfully and professionally in all interactions related to the programme.
The Society reserves the right to suspend or terminate participation where:
academic progress is persistently insufficient;
communication becomes substantially inactive;
programme requirements are repeatedly disregarded;
ethical or academic violations occur;
continued participation is deemed incompatible with the goals or standards of the programme.
Participants may also withdraw voluntarily from the programme at any time by notifying the Society.
Participants may refer to their participation in the programme in academic or professional contexts provided that such representations are accurate and not misleading.
The Society reserves the right to request correction or removal of false or misleading representations concerning affiliation, status, or achievements.
The Society provides educational and research training activities on a best-effort basis.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Society shall not be liable for:
indirect or consequential damages;
loss of academic, professional, or financial opportunities;
technical interruptions or online service failures;
actions of third parties;
outcomes of external academic or professional applications.
The Society reserves the right to:
modify programme structure or activities;
update participation requirements;
revise these Terms where reasonably necessary.
Updated versions will be published on the official website.
Continued participation after publication of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised version.
These Terms shall be interpreted in accordance with principles of good faith, academic integrity, and reasonable organisational practice.
Where specific legal jurisdiction is required by applicable law, relevant provisions shall apply accordingly.
